PE “Roads of Serbia” informs the public that the project of widening 26 toll stations is currently in progress in Serbia, aiming to increase capacities and uninterrupted passage of vehicles through toll stations.
By widening the toll station Stara Pazova, the number of lanes has been increased from 9 to 17, i.e., the toll station capacity will be greater by almost 90% compared with the existing one.
The first phase of the toll station Stara Pazova widening was carried out on 1 July, 2022, when two new lanes for tolling were opened, thus increasing the capacity and providing uninterrupted passage of vehicles during the summer season.
The planned widening of the toll station Stara Pazova implies the construction of 8 traffic islands, after which the toll station will have 17 lanes in total, out of which a minimum of 3 will be intended only for electronic toll collection users at any moment.
Besides the widening, construction of an administrative facility has been planned, with more than 300m2 of modernly equipped space above the tolling lanes.
During the previous weekend, despite the increased traffic intensity, there were no delays at the toll station Stara Pazova, with approximately 111,500 vehicles passing in total, which is almost 9% more than the same period last year.
After the widening, the toll station will be one of the largest, designed after the model of modern toll stations and, together with the toll station “Belgrade”; it will have the largest throughput.
